The process of creating pieces with precious metal clay involves rolling, shaping, texturing (if applicable), prepping, kiln-firing, and finishing each piece by hand.
It is not my goal for the pieces I create using precious metal clay to look highly machined. In fact, I prefer to use a minimal approach to finishing them. There may be telltale signs on the surface, then, that the pieces are derived from a soft, moldable material. These subtle signs are artifacts of the process that created them; they are impressions that reveal the handmade nature of each piece, and give them unreproducible uniqueness.
